Secret

Have you already noticed the wonderful "Mind Wide Open" challenges? This time you have to use a beautiful picture of a woman behind a keyhole and the word "secret" as a prompt for your piece. The frame for this piece is 8,3 x 8,3 inches. I have painted and rusted the frame and image and added some rusted metal embellishments. The rusted key at the bottom was attached by a torn piece of fabric. The whole piece is hanging from a piece of wire going through the golden heart below the word "secret". The poem written on the frame is medieval German from the 12th century:
Du bist min, ich bin din / des solt du gewis sin. / du bist beslozzen / in minem herzen: / verlorn ist das sluzzelin: / du muost och immer darinne sin.
(You are mine, I am yours for sure. You are in my heart, and the key is lost. You always have to be in there.)

  10. Hello Marion!

Hope all has been well with you this summer.

I love that the detail & layering make me want to step inside to see everything close-up. Blue and Rust are so pretty together!!

Ooooh and I just LOVE the poem you included and the way you lettered it along the edge in white.
