Art Genius

As I said before: it´s fun!

Folded ATCs

These are my first "folded ATCs" - just stamped and folded, so that there´s always something hidden behind the front. It´s fun to think about the possibilities ...

What is scary?

I don´t fear spiders, skulls or bats, so this is my Halloween card. Isn´t reality scary enough?
It´s the sixth cARTalog ATC for the Paper Traders´ swap, you can see the other five in the archives.

Hostess Monas

These are the hostess cards for the Mona Madness swap: the Postage Mona has been stamped on a background painted with acrylics and pencils and then scratched and embossed.
Mona in Venice was made with the soot technique and additional stamping.

Mona Madness

I´ve finished my ATCs for the Mona Madness Swap on artisttradingcards today. I´ve tried some different techniques as stamping, image transfer, and collage, so the results are very diverse, too.

Four Steps to Power and Glory

Today´s ATC is for a swap named "Art and Architecture". I´m not sure if I manage to make five more ATCs, but it´s a good start, I think.

Crown III

Another one for the Wednesday stampers - (http://wednesdaystamper.wordpress.com/):
It´s no wonder that this girl has now an elfish cast in her eyes because she has just discovered that she can talk to her pets ...

Crime Time - cARTalog

Here´s one of the cARTalog library cards which I found more difficult to work on - it´s about the psychology of rape victims. I´ve had a few ideas very early but didn´t know how to place them cautious enough. This has been an interesting challenge.

Crown II

The second entry for the wednesday stamper project is an ATC using Lost Coast´s lovely Mona Lisa and a castle by The Stamp Mine (Stempelmine).

Crown I

This Wednesday´s theme is "Crown" (see http://wednesdaystamper.wordpress.com/), so my first thought went to the frog I had just found in a newspaper - he doesn´t need to be kissed to become a prince, and he definitely climbs better than the king of the animals.

My Rusty Seven

Here´s the second one of last night´s acrylic backgrounds - its colours just asked for some specific collage elements. My friend Joyce sent me the rusty seven some time ago (thanks, Joyce!) and I thought it was perfect with the green and copper - I hope she´ll like it.

Total Admiration ATC

Tonight I pulled out my acrylics and made some backgrounds - not that you can see much of the background on this ATC called "Total Admiration" :-)
It´s just the inspiration these painted backgrounds give what makes them interesting for me.

It´s addictive ...

... this cARTalog theme ...
So here´s another one, "The inquiring mind" - I love this title!
I don´t think there´s a German equivalent!?

Journey into unconsciousness

The third cARTalog ATC has been inspired by a psychiatric glossary edited by the American Psychiatric Association. I made this library card a journey into unconsciousness, lead by Freud. I think I´ll add a see-through stone to the magnifying lens, but I scanned it before that because of the difficulties my scanner has with 3-D embellishments.

Another cARTalog ATC

This library card from the cARTalog project (see below) catalogues a 17th century description of a sea-monster forcing ships to be beached on the shore.

Two Collage ATCs

No brown and almost no stamps on the latest two ATCs.

No relatives today ...

People might think I only make cards and ATCs with pics of my own relatives after they´ve seen the last pieces with pics of my great-grandma and my father, but the two boys on today´s ATC are completely unknown to me :-)
Today´s ATC? Well, isn´t there an English saying "An ATC a day keeps the doctor away"? I´ll try that for the next months ...

Schooldays

It´s Wednesday - time for the Wednesdaystampers! (http://wednesdaystamper.wordpress.com) This week´s theme is "schooldays", one of my favorite topics.

First cARTalog ATC finished

This afternoon I´ve finished my first ATC for the Paper Traders´ cARTalog Swap (for the cARTalog project have a look at http://www.lib.uiowa.edu/pr/cartalog/home.htm). The scan is quite bad because my scanner doesn´t like 3-D-embellishments, but you´ll get the idea I think.
I´ve found a photo of a 1915 reading book from my hometown´s library which fits well to the card concerning adult education - so the piece is called "Learning all your life".

Great-grandma on the homepage

This morning I got a mail that my ATC "My heart´s desire" is on the ATC_World homepage now - I´m always happy to have a homepage "publishing" and appreciate the kind comments. The chosen ATC shows my great-grandma, so I´ll tell my mother about her popularity.
It has been for the Paper Traders´ swap "Precious Memories" that I´ve made a bunch of ATCs with old photos of my own ancestors. This has been a special experience cause I felt it´s very different from using collage sheets or pics from the internet; even if you´ve never met your ancestors in person.

Last week´s card "House"

Now that the wednesday stampers can find their way to my new site, I thought I put last week´s entry here too - the given theme was "house".

Hearts

I must say I´ve always hated hearts as a design - but when I saw this as a topic on the Wednesday stampers´ site, I´ve had a look at my stamps and stuff and found something I liked ...
(You´ll find Wednesday stampers here:
http://wednesdaystamper.wordpress.com/)
It´s interesting for me to think about a given theme every week, and I love to see what others come up with.

A bookmark

I´ve made a bookmark today for a swap in one of my groups -

I love books and reading (always have a book with me), so this was MY swap :-)

So let´s try a blog ...

Hi,
this blog hast just been created - I intend to post some pics and comments from time to time, mostly concerning ATCs or other art related items.
