It´s Official

I´ve just recently finished reading a detective story set in Berlin and Prussia in the 1920s and 1930s, so I´ve been in the perfect mood when Marsha from Tumble Fish Studio at DeviantScrap.com came up with her new kit "It´s Official". Being someone who doesn´t like uniforms in any context, I love this kit though and couldn´t help seeing the humour in all these people trying to look important ... There are also tons of lovely ephemera, and all images come in png as well as jpg format.

Masculine?

This week´s Three Muses challenge theme is Masculine, so I´ve asked myself: What is masculine? Really, I don´t know - I´m a woman who doesn´t like pink and pastels, who doesn´t collect handbags or shoes and who doesn´t like shopping, who never wanted to be a princess and who isn´t interested in royals and celebrities at all, but I like hard rock and soccer ... so am I not feminine?
You all know Michelangelo´s painting of god´s hand reaching Adam´s ... is it really a masculine act to create? Do you think that technics and logic are typically masculine?
Isn´t that all ridiculous?

Pumpkin Freaks

Marsha from Tumble Fish Studio at DeviantScrap.com has packed six of her kits (including some of my all time favourites! and including all images as jpgs!) to a new Fall Bundle that she now sells for a great price - you can check it out here.
My two sample collages use images from this bundle exclusively, and there´s so much more you can do with these images ...

Up to the Moon

Last week I found a rusty metal piece on the parking lot around the corner - here it is attached to my ATC for this month´s ARTchix Sisters lottery themed Steampunk.

Dream Comes True

Marsha from Tumble Fish Studios at DeviantScrap.com has a new big kit out that she´s called "UNpredictable" - and as it comes with png as well as jpg images, I´ve made three cut and paste pieces this time.
Above is a postcard (that I gave to my boss for her birthday last week) that has an original vintage discount card in the background, but all other pieces are from the kit.
Below are two ATCs, one with movable parts.
It´s a fun and very versatile kit, so have fun with it!

Miss Black Hat

It´s Monday, so it´s time for another Hidden Vintage Halloween kit! This week´s release features Little Miss Black Hat, isn´t she´s a beauty? (I´ve combined the kit with a cauldron and crow from Downunder Studios here.)
As always, you´ll find jpg as well as png images in the kit at DeviantScrap.com, so you´ll be able to do digital as well as cut and paste art with it. Have fun!

Welcome to the Circus

I just love to use found images for my postcards: For last week´s Travel card it was a lady from a magazine advertisement, and for this week´s Circus card it´s a hand holding a top hat that I´ve found on a brochure in my supermarket today. I sanded and painted it, chose a background paper and then added some stamped artists to finish my entry for this week´s SPA challenge - what a fun theme!

Gothic Poe-try

Of course I just couldn´t resist the new Poe kit by Finecrafted Designs at Deviant Scrap ... all words by Mr Poe himself, brushes by Fall´n Stock, textures by Shadowhouse Creations.

The Haunted Library

Hidden Vintage Studios at Deviant Scrap continue creating their lovely Halloween Micro kits, and Haunted Library is their latest one. Here I have combined the kit with elements from Finecrafted Designs and Downunder Studios as well as brushes from Fall´n Stock. Quite spooky!

Travel

Do you go on vacation this summer? Or have you already returned? I´ve only had one week off work and traveled only in my own country, but I´ve seen so many new things that I returned full of inspiring impressions.
This week´s SPA challenge theme is "Travel", and though I´m not a big traveler, I really enjoy planning journeys and always benefit from them for years. And don´t forget the journeys that you take only in your mind - what fun!

Le Cirque

Have you noticed that the 4 x 4 Friday Challenge Blog is back from the holidays? This week´s challenge theme is "Night Circus", and, having read that book recently, I couldn´t resist using all those lovely images you can find at Deviant Scrap now ...

Halloween is near!

Here´s good news for all of you who can´t wait to make some Halloween artwork: Tracey and Melissa from Hidden Vintage Studios have started their 13 Weeks of Halloween project with the first two Micro kits called "Essey Witch" and "Haunted Bakery", and as always their kits come with both png and jpg images, so they´re perfect for your cut and paste projects!
My digital collage above uses the Essey Witch kit plus additional elements by Finecrafted Designs and Downunder Studios. I hope you´ll have fun "going green"!

Haunted Story Tags

Here are my tags for the latest Red Lead swap themed "Haunted Story Tags" - there´s a bit of sparkle on them that´s not easy to see, maybe it helps to click on the scan to enlarge.

Midnight Reverie

Today is the big reveal of Deviant Scrap´s Collective Collab project based on the novel "The Night Circus" by Erin Morgenstern. (Yes, there´s already a German translation and an audio book spoken by Matthias Brandt.) Watch Marta van Eck´s little video above and get in the mood! The story is all about a black and white circus that opens only at night and two lovers bound to their destiny ...
The designers at Deviant Scrap have put together single kits as well as a lovely collab kit you receive for free when you purchase Midnight Reverie kits for at least $ 14,99.
As always, I´ve put together some samples for you using the kits from Hidden Vintage Studios and Tumble Fish Studio as well as elements by the very generous Ildi from Rucola Designs.
This first digital collage "Bound" was made with the kit by Hidden Vintage Studios plus additional elements by Finecrafted Designs and Rucola Designs.
My second Hidden Vintage Studios piece "Your Wants" uses additional elements by Rucola Designs and Tumble Fish Studios.
This digital collage called "Magic" was made with elements from Tumble Fish Studio only.
And to show you that you can also use the jpg images that come with both these kits, my last sample is a cut and paste Altered Book spread using elements from Tumble Fish Studio´s Midnight Reverie kit.

You don´t have to know the book to have fun with these fabulous images, but if you DID read the book, all these kits will really spark your imagination!
