Welcome to Poe´s Birthday Party

Enchant Your Life

I´ve made some samples for Red Lead, one of my favourite rubber stamp shops, some time ago, and here are two more of them: a chipboard arch and a framette, both bird themed and decorated with hand-dyed book pages and Red Lead rubber stamps.

Back to School

It´s funny how you lose track of when the holidays start and end once you´ve left school forever. I had to have a look into my calendar to see that there are two weeks left before school starts again here in Münster.

However, "Back to School" is the new theme for the Gothic Arches challenge, and this is my entry.

Taste Life Twice

This week´s Gothic Arches challenge wants us to use a painting of Frederick Leighton (1830-1896).

Orange and Black

... is this week´s Gothic Arches challenge, and as my previous Halloween pieces have been in purple and black mostly, I´ve made a Halloween arch. The tickets and spiders are lovely gifts I´ve received with my swap returns from Kris lately - thanks again!

Inventors

... is this week´s theme for the Gothic Arches challenge. My postcard sized arch is about Benjamin Franklin who invented the lightning arrestor in 1752 but has also been a statesman and is famous for some fantastic quotes like the one I´ve used here. Enough work for three lives - what a genius he must have been.

City Heat

Last week I received one of the latest Tim Holtz sets that I´ve won at the Stampers Anonymous Yahoo group. When I noticed that this week´s Gothic Arches challenge is themed "Cities", I thought it would be perfect for trying my new stamps.

I´ve always lived in big cities and love that because I need museums, cinemas, concerts, and all that stuff around me, and because I don´t have a car ;-) I even like to spend my holidays in big cities like Berlin or Munich. So my arch is not about any specific city but big cities in general.

Edgar Allan Poe is this week´s theme for the Gothic Arches challenge - of course I couldn´t resist! My arch measures 3,5 x 5 inches.

I´m not too much into fashion myself, but I like crazy hats, especially when it comes to rubber stamping ;-) So here´s my fashion vicitim of the sea for this week´s Wednesday Stamper´s challenge. And as the Gothic Arches challenge has an open theme right now, it´s also qualified for that one.

Peaceful Sunday

Everything is quiet outside, the bells of the three churches around my house are ringing, and most people stay at home today because it´s raining for hours and it´s a cold May day. You can say it´s boring, or you can enjoy the silence and have a peaceful day playing with your art supplies!
Peace is this week´s theme for the Gothic Arches challenge, and I hope that my arch expresses this quietness inside me.
