Create

As this year is coming to an end - what are your new year´s resolutions? As always, mine are to find more time to create art regularly and to learn new techniques. So here´s my card for this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge themed "Create, Creativity, Creation", made with several stamps from Red Lead (and a lady I don´t know the source of).

All is Calm

This week, there´s no theme for the Sunday Postcard Art challenge, so you can upload any 4 x 6 postcard. I´m wishing you happy holidays with this card using rubber stamps from Tim Holtz, Hero Arts and Oxford Impressions.

Simple Holiday Cards - Quick and Easy

As the mail services seem to work very slowly lately, it´s time to send my international mail now, and not much time left before all other cards have to be in the mail, too. As always, I´ve made all my cards different, but many of them are really simple - not because I´m lazy but because I really like them to be that way ...
For my first three cards, I´ve used craft paper cards.

The next two cards use stencils in different ways:

And yes, I´ve also made cards with German texts :-)) The first one also uses a stencil and some spray ink:

I hope that looking at these gave you a few ideas for your own cards this year!

Not a Wonderland

When I was in Berlin two week´s ago, I´ve taken lots of photos of Street Art, especially at the East Side Gallery and the Hackesche Höfe, where I´ve found this great word art. For my digital collage above, I´ve combined it with a few elements from Holliewood Studios at MischiefCircus.com.

Merry Christmas, says Santa

Sometimes the simple design is the best, especially when it comes to Holiday cards. This card combines just a few colours typical for Christmas (green and red) and only two rubber stamps from Penny Black and 100 Proof Press.
It´s my entry for this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge themed "Santa".

Busy Elves

Why does Christmas always come so suddenly? If you´re like me, you realize this fact in late November and get in a hurry - but here´s the solution you need: busy elves, professional and prolific!
I´ve made this card for this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge using elements from (sadly retired) Tumble Fish Studio and Priss Designs.

Stamping Fun with ATCs

As some of you know, I´ve been on vacation in Berlin last week, visiting my sister Sabine. That always means a lot of stamping time for two, and I usually return with a few good results. This time I´ve made the Holiday cards I´ve already shown as well as a few ATCs to fill up my trading album. The backgrounds have been made Distress Oxides except the third one that was made with acrylics on a gelli plate.

More Holiday Cards

I´ve made a few holiday cards last week, using papers dyed with Brusho crystals and rubber stamps from Lynne Perrella, Crafty Individuals, Red Lead and Tim Holtz.

On the first card, I haven´t glued the wings´ ends to the card so that they are movable and give a nice 3-D effect, casting shadows to the card.

Victorian Angel

This week´s theme for the Sunday Postcard Art challenge is "Victorian Scrap", and as I hadn´t started making Holiday cards yet, I decided to do it NOW ... so here´s my first Holidy card for 2017 and my entry for the challenge, using an angel on a background made with Distress Oxides and embossed rubber stamps in silver and copper.

A Little Bit of Sparkle

Do you have any of your own collages in your stash that need a new glow, atmosphere or sparkle? Then you should have a look at the new Songbirdy kits Glitzy #1 and Glitzy #2.
For "A Sunny Day" I´ve used an old collage made with Beth´s Attitude set and added 5 pieces of Glitzy #2 on top. Try different blending modes and percentages of opacity, and you´ll get a cool new look - for this sample I went with a summer glow effect that shows that the result does not always have to be sparkly.

But talking about sparkle, just have a look at the next piece (made with Beth´s kits Muse, So Fab, and several pieces from Glitz #1) - here the golden sparkles with green and blue accents make it all shine.
And finally, here´s a collage made with Beth´s kit Pomp that has one piece of Glitz #1 on the upper part to fit the colder tones there, and one piece of the reddish Glitz #2 at the bottom to give that part a warm glow.
These pieces are very versatile and can even be recoloured to fit your needs, so try them yourself!

Berlin Skyline

Skyline is the theme for this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge, and Berlin is the city I´m going to visit next week, so here´s my Berlin Skyline card - I really love to explore all the historical places and museums and events and friends and and and in Berlin ... can´t wait to go there again!
My card was made with help from JHC, Rucola Designs, and Paula Kesselring.

Burlesque

It´s the first Monday in November and time for a new Monthly Mischief collection at MischiefCircus. I´ve been playing with Beth Todd´s Songbirdy kits for it, called Burlesque and Burlesque Queens.
My first collage introduces the Queen of them all to you - isn´t that ostrich regal? Of course she´s the queen of the show!
This scene shows a moment before the show ...
... and here´s the show Tonight at "The Blue Elephant". Have fun at the Burlesque show and with Beth´s colourful kits!

A Splash of Colour!

In the midst of all that dark and scary Halloween stuff, it has been a pleasure to pull out the most radiant colours and make a card for this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge themed "Pink, Yellow and Orange". Usually I don´t like colour themes, but I took the challenge to try some of my stencils here, combined with a sentiment that really says it all for me right now ...
The stencils I´ve used here are from Clarity Stamp, Art Anthology, and Cadence, the stamp is from Visible Images, and the colours are Distress ink pads, Pan Pastels, and Derwent Graphik Line Painter.

Apothecary Labels

This week´s theme for the Sunday Postcard Art challenge is "Apothecary Labels", and on my card, you see the pharmacist at work, preparing the labelling of his drugs. I´ve used "The Alchemist" kit from Eena´s Creations for my card.

In the pale Moonlight

Have you ever taken a midnight walk, and if so, what did you see? When it´s dark, the silhouettes of trees can frighten you, and you shouldn´t trust your eyes ...
My postcard for this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge themed "Moonlight" was made with Distress Oxide stamp pads for the background and rubber stamps from A Capella, Red Lead, VLVS, and Artistic Stamper.

Like my new Hat?

Starting with October 1st, I´m always beginning to follow my Halloween mood - that´s why this lovely owl needed a witch hat! As it´s a dark night, it had to be one in neon orange :-)
This card is my entry for this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge themed "Hat or Headpiece", and I´ve used rubber stamps from Stampendous, Hampton Art, Scrollswork and another company I don´t want to mention because I´ve had much trouble with their service, and they owe me some money ...

Celebrating DSD

In 2016, the internationally celebrated Digital Scrapbooking Day (DSD) was moved from November to the first Saturday in October. Most shops offering digital supplies are throwing a party in their forums with challenges and games, and Mischief Circus celebrates for the whole week. Won´t you come and play in these challenges, too?
"Waiting for the Witching Hour" above was made for the "Clock It" challenge and features the clock freebie by Holliewood Studios.
For the "Witchy Woman" challenge you can decide whether your witch should be a good or a bad one - well, mine is definitely bad!
And for the "Fill Your Tray" challenge you can fill your printers tray freebie with any elements you like; in my case, it had to be books of course ...
There´s much time left to join these challenges and win great prize coupons, so come and celebrate DSD with us!

The Haunting

Summer is over, the dark time of the year is close at hand, and the peeps at Mischief Circus can´t wait for Halloween and making some spooky stuff! Their new storewide collaboration is called "The Haunting", and here are three samples made with just Songbirdy´s kit and add-on elements: "Downstairs" above, "Guardians and Visitors" in the middle, and last but not least "The Witching Hour".

Finding Wonderland

For this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge themed "Wonderland", I could have made LOADS of cards - but this is what I came up with ... for my card, I´ve used stamps from VivaLasVegaStamps, Zettiology, Joggles, and Crafty Individuals.

Higher Self

What a lovely Zetti styled image kit! Nancy Baumiller came out with a new Crowabout StudioB kit called Higher Self today, and here are two digital collages made with it - of course you can also use it for your cut and paste artwork as the kit comes with png images as well as printable collage sheets.

Carte Postale

"Carte Postale" has to be found anywhere on the postcards for this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge, and as I own a stamp with these words, I´ve been able to make a stamped card this week.
I´ve used a background made with Distress Oxides and rubber stamps from Rubber Hedgehog, VivaLasVegaStamps, A Capella, Makistamps, Nick Bantock, Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous, and Ma Vinci - but I have no idea where the "Carte Postale" stamp is from ...(if YOU know, please give me a hint).

Do You Believe in Fairytales?

What do you think about fairytales? Do you like to read them now as an adult, and did you like them as a child, or did they scare you? I remember that I´ve read a lot of them, but as many of the folk tales are really cruel, I haven´t been a big fan of them. My favourites until today are the literary fairytales, especially those from Andersen and Hauff.
For this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge themed "Classic Fairytales" I´ve chosen Little Red Riding Hood though, and I´ve used images from Eena´s Creations, Hidden Vintage Studios, Rucola Designs and Krysty Scrap.

At the Waters´ Edge

Last week I´ve been to Neustrelitz for a weekend, and I´ve had a great time there visiting dear friends, enjoying some late summer days, and taking a few pictures of the wonderful landscape.
Here I´ve turned one of my photos into a watercolour painting with Photoshop and added some word art from Lorie Davison.
Wanna see my original photo? Here it is:

Muse

Have you seen the Monthly Mischief kits for September themed "Muse" over at Mischief Circus? I´ve used Beth´s Songbirdy kits with elements and papers for these two collages.

Books/Reading

Of course I couldn´t resist this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge theme "Books and Reading". For my digital postcard I´ve used elements from Xquizart, an Oscraps collab, Alpha Stamps, Gracie Tracy, OAWA, Priss and Lorie Davison; the background is a scan of a book page I´ve dyed with spray inks.

By the Light of the Moon

I´ve read in the newspaper that mushrooms have been seen early this year, and in fact we´ve had some days that looked a lot like autumn last week - so I´ve been in the mood to make a digital postcard for this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge themed "Fungi". Credits go to the sadly retired Hidden Vintage Studios as well as Holliewood Studios.

Tropical Summer

No, I´ve never been on a tropical island, and when I´m going on vacation (not very often), I prefer big cities with lots of museums and sightseeing, or great landscapes with medium temperatures ... but as this week´s theme for the Sunday Postcard Art challenge is "Tropical Summer", I had to dive into my tropically themed or coloured stuff, and this is the result.
