Edgy

Usually, we use the rule of the golden ratio when making art, dividing our surface in thirds and putting our focus on one third - even if we don´t think about the design and balance. So I thought it would be nice to try something different and concentrate on the edges of our cards!

But of course this theme is a play on words and you can also think of something eccentric (which is again something out of focus) in any way ...

I hope you´ll be inspired by this open theme and play with us for this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge. I can´t wait to see your cards!

I have used rubber stamps from Dina Wakely and Stamp Camp for my card.

Welcome to Poe´s Birthday Party

Lost Coast Designs and Carmen´s Veranda are having a blog hop celebrating Poe´s Birthday today, and you can join the fun until January 23. Here´s my collection of Poe inspired artwork that includes at least one rubber stamp; these pieces date from 2009 to 2015.

Hope you´ll join the celebration (you´ll find more info at the bottom of this post)!

Poe Page Published

Do you remember this 4 x 4 Poe Page that I´ve made for our All Things Poe book project in the Cherry Pie Yahoo group? Today I have received my copy of the Fall 2011 issue of RubberStampMadness, and you´ll find my page on page 56. Thanks to RSM and to Marina, the owner of Cherry Pie, for sending my page to RSM! The picture below shows the book I´ve made with the pages for this project, containing lovely pages from Sandy, Petra, Carol, Linda J., Jean, Elizabeth, Linda K., Bibi, Paula, Barbara, Alison, Brandy, and Marina herself. Isn´t it lovely?

All Things Poe

... is the title of this Cherry Pie 4 x 4 swap. All stamps by Cherry Pie of course.

Roads & Paths

Sometimes when you read a challenge theme, you´re inspired immediately: Ideas come up, images pop up in your mind, words make up phrases, an atmosphere is growing. This happened when I read the theme for Lenna´s new swap at creativeswaps which is themed "Roads & Paths", so I´ve made my four 4 x 4 collages today.

The Raven King

How could I resist today´s 4 x 4 Friday challenge "King Raven"? I´ve painted mine with Twinkling H2Os and mounted it on a glossy dark blue card, so my raven looks quite royal. I´ll send it to a friend who loves ravens and crows as much as I do.

Chunky Gothic Arches

These are my 4 x 4 collages for the ARTchix Chunky Gothic Arches swap - all images by ARTchix of course.

Spooky

Two Halloween 4 x 4 collages - I just had to make one for a mingle but hope that Anita will like to get them both!

Fishy 4 x 4

Here´s my fish themed collage for this week´s 4 x 4 Friday challenge. I have already mounted it to send it as a greeting card.

Doorways

This week´s theme for the 4 x 4 Friday is Doorways - as I got this new stamp today, I just had to use it here.

4 x 4 Bird Deco Pages - Back

Anyone of you who knows me just a little bit won´t be surprised to see that I have 1st) put words on the back and 2nd) stamped the backs.

4 x 4 Bird Deco Pages - Front

These are the front sides of four 4 x 4 inch Bird Deco pages. But if I want to join the swap I´ll also have to decorate the backs - no ideas yet ...

Two Hearts

Combining my latest anatomy pieces with my passion for German literature, here´s a quote from Goethe´s "Faust" as a 4 x 4 inch page. It doesn´t work in English because it´s translated "Two souls live in my breast" instead of "Two hearts ...".

My first 4x4 page

This is the first 4x4 book page I´ve ever made, and it´s for a Paper Traders´ group project called "Counting Crows": One for sorrow, two for mirth, three for a wedding, four for a birth, five for silver, six for gold, seven for a secret never to be told.
I´ve missed the chatter of the crows in my mailbox today after sending the Crows swap out, so this was sort of a substitute ... I have to make six copies of this page, so bye for now ;-)
