This week´s Compendium of Curiosities Challenge theme at Linda´s blog is Tim Holtz´ "Spritz & Flick Distress" technique. Once you´ve started, you can´t stop, so here are three pieces I´ve made with this technique today. I´ve added a little white pen on the tag and bleach on the fish card. This week the challenge is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp and you can win a shopping spree from them!
(Stamps by Paper Artsy and Green Pepper Press.)

The Future is Now
I´m glad that I finally had time to participate in Linda´s CCC2 challenge. Week No. 4 wants us to try Tim Holtz´ great "Faded Layers" technique from his Compendium of Curiosities book Vol. 2. This technique is so much fun, and it´s so versatile, you can use it with every theme you want to stamp.

Laugh to the Skies
This ATC combines three challenges - it features a dimensional collage fragment made for Linda´s Compendium of Curiosities Challenge, was made with a Glimmer misted background and therefore qualifies for the Creavil challenge, and it´s my vision of "Spring is in the air", this week´s Crazy Amigo challenge.Monday, February 21, 2011
CCC: Altered Metal Alcohol Inks
I´ve made a Steampunk ATC called "Automat Love" for this week´s CCC challenge featuring Tim Holtz´ Altered Metal Alcohol Inks technique - I´ve used AI in black soot and red pepper to alter the gear (that has been brass-coloured before) and the heart (copper-coloured before). It´s my first ATC for an upcoming Steampunk swap.

CCC: Inking and Stamping Masks
Here´s my card using this week´s CCC Tim Holtz technique "Inking and Stamping Masks". The family picture was masked, and the plastic slide was gessoed and then sprayed with Glimmer Mist.Monday, February 07, 2011
CCC: Rusted Enamel
Theme No. 31 for the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge is Tim Holtz´"Rusted Enamel" technique. It´s a pity that the scan can´t show the nice texture and that you can´t touch the original tag - it feels a bit like leather, and I think this technique would be great for decorating book covers. My Rusted Enamel background was made with Wild Honey, Dried Marigold, and Rusty Hinge and textured with Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. I´ve stamped on it with StazOn Black Cherry and Timber Brown.

CCC: I Love Paris
I´m late again with this week´s CCC challenge themed "Altered Metal with Paint"! I´ve made an ATC using UTEE and Perfect Pearls, embellished with a Rusted Grunge heart and a plane charm altered with paint.

CCC: Weathered Wood Grunge
I´ve made this card from grungepaper that was treated with Tim Holtz´ "Weathered Wood Grunge" technique, and it´s my entry for this week´s CCC challenge - have a look here to see all the other entries using this technique.Saturday, January 15, 2011
CCC: Distress Misting Masks
I´ve been sick for the whole last week, so I´m late again with my entry for Linda´s Compendium of Curiosities Challenge No. 27. I have used Mustard Seed ink with Perfect Pearls in Green Patina, and Broken China ink with Blue Patina shimmer. The masks I´ve used are by Tattered Angels and Heidi Swapp, the stamp by Character Constructions.Saturday, January 08, 2011
CCC: Rusted Grunge
Though Tim Holtz´ Rusted Grunge technique is one of my favourites from his book, I´m quite late posting my entry for this week´s CCC challenge - I´ve been ill since the last day of 2010 and am still feeling sick ...Sunday, December 26, 2010
CCC: Scribble Stain Distress
Here´s my card for Linda´s latest Compendium of Curiosities Challenge themed Scribble Stain Distress.Monday, December 06, 2010
CCC: Rock Candy Distress Stickles

This week´s Compendium of Curiosities Challenge is about using the Tim Holtz Rock Candy Distress Stickles. I´ve made another Christmas card using the distress ink colours wild honey, rusty hinge, and broken china. The scan doesn´t show the sparkling Stickles, so I´ve taken a photo of a detail to show it - I think this festive sparkle is perfect for the Three Wise Men scene!Monday, November 08, 2010
CCC: Perfect Distress
Perfect Distress is this week´s Tim Holtz technique for Linda´s Compendium of Curiosities challenge.I have used wild honey, broken china, and dusty concord for the background and stamped with aged mahogany and chipped sapphire, then used Perfect Pearls in Rust and Blue Patina - what a pity that the scan doesn´t show the shimmer!

CCC: Extreme Masking
It´s time for another CCC technique again, and the theme for this week is Extreme Masking. As suggested, I left out step 5 here, so it isn´t that extreme :-)Monday, September 27, 2010
CCC: Wrinkle-free Distress

This week´s Tim Holtz technique for Linda´s Compendium of Curiosities challenge is Wrinkle-free Distress.
For my tag I have used Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey, Broken China, and Chipped Sapphire.

13 Odd Things To Happen ...
Something really spooky is going on right now as everything I make is turning out to be Halloween art, even my entry for this week´s Compendium of Curiosities challenge ...The theme for this week is Tim Holtz´"Alcohol Ink Agate on Grunge" technique. In addition to the dotted grungeboard that I´ve received as a RAK today and the inks I have used Tim´s hand, eye, and raven stamp, as well as the "things to happen ..." as part of one of his stamps.

CCC: City Lights
This week´s Tim Holtz technique over at Linda´s "Compendium of Curiosities Challenge" is Blended Batik - a quick and fun yet very effective technique! I love the crackled look of the embossed parts here! I´ve used a metallic dark blue paper for the main card with a lovely shimmer that my scanner isn´t able to show.Monday, August 09, 2010
CCC: Distress Crackle
In week #9 of Linda´s "Compendium of Curiosities" Challenge (CCC) we try Tim Holtz´ Distress Crackle technique. For my 4 x 6 I´ve been following the instructions in his book very closely, using Distress Crackle Paint for the bird and Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint for the Bingo background. You can use a bingo marker to accent a number with a special meaning for the recipient, for example the year of his/her birth.
