Good or Bad News?

Though I´m really sad to see Marsha´s retirement as a kit designer, her sale could be good news for YOU! If you have some of her wonderful kits on your wish list, you have 3 1/2 weeks from now to shop them with a great discount before they´ll be gone forever.
Marsha will stay as a member at MischiefCircus of course, and if you´re interested in her future artwork and images, you could watch her blog and etsy shop soon.

143 Collage Sheets

Tracey from Hidden Vintage Studios came up with a wonderful deal for all you cut and paste artists - she´s selling the collage sheets from ALL her kits (even the retired ones) together for a special price. You should have a look at this great deal here. I´m using her images in my own cut and paste artwork all the time and love them, so if you´re not like me and already have them all, you shouldn´t miss this great offer!

Tell All

what is the one thing that you know now that you would have liked to have known when you first started to create art?
That´s the question Seth Apter has asked all the participants in the Tell All section of his last survey "The Pulse", and you´ll find my answer in today´s post on Seth´s blog here.

Something Personal

I´ve been ill for the last four days, so couldn´t do anything creative. But if you´re interested in a bit more information about me - you know that I don´t share much about me on my blog - and if you´re a member of Creative Souls, you can go to that site and read a long interview with me in the "Featured Artist" series here. Just scroll down a bit ...

It´s Digital Scrapbooking Day

... and sales are waiting for you in your favourite image shops - for example my friends Marsha from Tumble Fish Studio and Tracey and Melissa from Hidden Vintage Studios have their sale at Deviant Scrap from November 2nd - 4th - you shouldn´t miss it! And remember that even if you don´t work digitally, you can use all these images (even the pngs) for printing and then using them in your cut and paste collages.

Technique & Tool

Today you´ll find me featured on Seth Apter´s blog answering his survey about favourite art techniques and tools. You won´t be surprised that it´s stamping in my case ... yes, I could have answered gesso, scissors, or glue stick, but I´m in love with stamps for 12 years now, and it´s a love that continues to make me happy. Even when creating digital art with Photoshop, you´re able to use brushes as digital stamps, so you´ll hardly find any artwork of mine that doesn´t have some kind of stamping.

This post is for you, Bonnie!

I´ve had several comments on my blog during the last years asking where to buy or get appropriate postage stamps for making postage people. Most people commenting don´t leave their e-mail addy, so I´m not able to answer elsewhere than in the comments. But as I doubt that readers come back to find an answer to their questions there, I´ve decided to make an extra blog post.
I´ve received most of my stamps on envelopes from swap returns or as ephemera with swaps. But sometimes I´ve purchased some great stamps in the department store.
When I sent out the returns from my own Postage People blog swap, I sent a little bag with head stamps to everyone. I´ll do that for you, Bonnie, and other people who told me that they´re not able to find the right stamps. Please send me an e-mail with your address, and I´ll send a few stamps to you; just click on the "e-mail me" link in the sidebar of my blog.

Tagged again

Hey, I´ve been tagged again, this time by Connie.
I don´t think that you want to hear more quirky and boring things about me, so maybe you just have a look here. And as always, I don´t tag anyone, but of course I´d like to read something about you ;-))

Tagged again

Oh, I´ve been tagged again by Sandee ... Now I have to tell 7 random things about me - well, I don´t think that I´ve changed a lot since last April, so here´s what I´ve already told you:
I need some chocolate to be creative.
You´ll never meet me without a book in my bag.
I can´t bear listening to music that I hate - I have to leave the room immediately.
I can´t bear watching people chewing chewing-gum.
It´s hard for me to be creative in the morning.
Movies and music often drive me to tears.
Well, and here´s a seventh fact: I´ve never been outside Europe.
As most of my friends don´t like chain letters I don´t forward this - but if you like to think of some unimportant things about yourself, just let me know about them.

Artists´ Survey

Do you remember Seth Apter´s last survey called "The Pulse"? For the next weeks you´ll find the next round of The Pulse on Seth´s Blog here. 95 artists have answered 7 questions, and I am happy to be one of them. Come and take a look!

ATC Collection

I´ve just received my return cards from an ATC swap and discovered that I´ve hit the 2.000 limit now - I now have 2001 ATCs from 410 different people from 19 nations, wow. Thanks to all who have contributed to my collection, and I hope I´ll get a card or more from those of you that I don´t know yet ... if you´re interested in trading ATCs, just have a look at my Flickr album and let me know.

Playing Favorites

Did you ever feel alone in the blog world? I don´t think so. But maybe you´ve felt a bit lost in this big world of artists´ blogs and didn´t know where to find those artists you like!?

Visiting Seth Apter´s blog "The Altered Page" you will not only find Seth´s own fabulous pieces but you´ll also get to know other artists he likes. And with his project "The Pulse" he even tries to connect people and is quite successful in doing so.
Maybe you´ve read his last survey about artistic influences; if not, you´ll still find it on his blog.

I felt honoured when Seth gave me his E-rate award some time ago, and I felt even more honoured when he asked me to take part in his "Playing Favorites" survey.

I´ve contributed two pieces for it, the first one a journal entry that you can find on his blog today.

My second piece was a canvas that will appear on his blog soon.
Stay tuned and keep an eye on his blog, it´s always rewarding.
