Do you remember this Children themed card that I´ve made for the fabulous Sunday Postcard Art challenge blog several months ago? I´ve just received my copy of the Spring issue of Artful Blogging and have seen that they´ve used it for their article about the blog - it´s on page 116.
Thanks Mandy for hosting that great blog and for contacting Somerset!

Mom´s Purse
Don´t ask me where the purse stamp is from - I´ve found it on ebay years ago and can´t remember. Today I thought it was the perfect stamp for this week´s Wednesday Stamper´s challenge "(hand)bags".

A Cat´s Imagination
Everything I do is a bit late right now, so here´s my entry for this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge themed "Cats".

One World - One Heart Giveaways
Probably you´ve seen this badge on many blogs before because I´m terribly late with my posting - but not too late at all! So I´ve decided to be a part of this event and to post some giveaways for everyone.
All you have to do to win one of the three Gothic Arches (each is about 4 x 5,5 inches, so these are NOT ATCs) is to leave a comment to this post with a valid e-mail address so that I´ll be able to contact you after I´ve drawn the three winners on February 12th.
Please click on the One World - One Heart logo to find a list of all bloggers who participate in this project.
The comments for this post are now closed. I´ll draw the winners soon!

My Turquoise Haven
Here´s my Turquoise Haven postcard for this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge. Turquoise is one of my favourite colours, but I think it needs some contrasting colours, so I´ve used mostly red and dark brown here.

Openings
You can open the "doors" to these girls´ inner self in this card for this week´s Wednesday Stampers´ challenge "Openings".
Travel around the world: Prague
Did you know that I´ve been thinking of studying history 25 years ago? Well, I´ve chosen other subjects then, but I´ve always been interested in history ... so my Prague card is a bloody one, showing two important events that happened in Prague: In 1618, the Thirty Years´ War started with the Defenestration of Prague, and in 1968 mechanized infantry combat vehicles have set an end to the Prague Spring.
As a lover of literature, I prefer thinking of Franz Kafka when it comes to Prague! In the upper left corner you can see the beginning of his letter to his father, and the big red K is for Mr Josef K. of course ...
This card goes to Kati.

Drive my car
I don´t care about cars, but I´ve always loved this Beatles song - so here´s my ATC for this week´s TMTA challenge!

A Bird in Winter
This week´s theme for the Dans ma maison il y a ... challenge is "a bird in winter" - so here´s my French bird, seeking shelter under the "roof" of a tree.

Soot Stamping
Soot Stamping is this week´s Saturday´s Workout technique.
On the left you can see the technique as it´s shown on the Challenge blog. But maybe you don´t know that you can use the technique in a negative way (see above): just stamp your images with VersaMark ink and then hold your card to the flame. When everything´s covered with soot, wipe it away. You don´t even need a fixative this time.

Postage People Video Workshop!
Do you remember my Postage People ATC swap on this blog last year? Have you tried working with Postage People yourself?
Now you can find a video workshop online, showing how the 4 x 6 inches card above called "A Rare Adventure" was made - just have a look here. If you have any further questions, please don´t hesitate to ask!
And if you want to see more Postage People stuff, I recommend the upcoming May issue of the German stamping magazine Just Stamps: I´ve written an article about Postage People for it and submitted a lot of examples ... In the meantime, try it yourself!

Gesso Stamping
There´s Gesso on most of my artwork, but here´s a technique that I don´t use very often: Stamp with Gesso on a dark glossy paper (here it´s dark blue), let dry (and don´t forget to clean your stamp immediately); then wipe different dye inks (here it´s oriental blue and deep lilac) on the gesso and wipe them away partially.
I´ve also used Gesso to glue on the transparent butterfly to give it a white background.
This card is my entry for this week´s Wednesday Stamper´s challenge on Gesso.
