Gypsy Soul

Come jump on the Gypsy Caravan with Nancy Baumiller´s new kit Gypsy Soul!
I´ve made two digital collages for you, the first one illustrating a quote by William Bliss:
There is something in October
sets the gypsy blood astir:
We must rise and follow her,
When from every hill of flame
She calls, and calls each vagabond by name.

Announcing my 10th Annual Blog Swap: All Things Alice!

You may have noticed that Lewis Carroll´s “Alice in Wonderland” celebrated its 150 years anniversary last year (it was written in 1865, and its sequel is from 1871).
This fact alone would be a good reason to have an Alice themed swap this year, but I´ve also read that Tim Burton´s Alice film gets a sequel, too, that starts in May. Unfortunately, Tim Burton isn´t the director for “Through the Looking Glass”, but the teaser for the film looks great nevertheless, and I´m really forward to watch it!

In the meantime, let´s make loads of Alice themed ATCs!
You don´t have to stick to the original story or illustrations  – you can go your own way, let her live in Zettiland, or let her go on vacation, or or or … Just make sure that Alice´s original world is your inspiration, and think of The Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, the March Hare, the White Rabbit, the Queen of Hearts, a Tea Party, Nonsense Rhymes, big versus small, flamingos, playing cards, chess, Humpty Dumpty, etc.

And here are the rules:

All techniques are allowed, such as collage, stamping, drawing, painting, sewing, digital (if you work digitally, please add at least one tactile element!).

Please sign up via personal email (just click on the email me link in the sidebar) and let me know your snail mail address. There´s no sign-up date.

Then send 3 ATCs to my address (that I´ll send you when I answer your email) so that they´re in my hands before April 30, 2016.

As always, you´ll find weekly updates on my blog with links to all participants´ ATCs.
So when you´ve finished your ATCs, please send me an email with the link to the place where you´ve posted them online, and I´ll add that link to the next update so that everyone can go to your blog or other website to have a look at your artwork.
We´ll also have a Pinterest Board for the swap where I´ll pin your cards and everyone can have a look at what the others made for the swap, leave comments, etc.
There´s another Pinterest Board here where I´ve pinned previous Alice themed stuff just for your inspiration.

I´ll send out invitations to all previous blog swap participants, but this swap is open to all my visitors. Have fun!

Talking to Toads

I´ve had fun playing with two of Mary Bailey´s image kits here, it´s so easy to tell a story with them. (You can find them under Miles Beyond the Moon at MischiefCircus.com.)

Goddesses of Daily Life

Marsha from Tumble Fish Studio came out with a really large new kit today called "Another Mash Up", and I´ve made two samples with it for you:
The first one is digital and represents my idea of female life -I don´t know about you, but in my life there´s no room for glamour and high heels, but there´s office work for five days and other work for the rest of the seven days a week, and there´s rain and snow and a doubtful smile in the face most of the time ...
My second piece is a cut and paste page in my Moleskine journal, and the heroine here is willing to see her lucky star almost everywhere, even in a flower found on the floor - but I see melancholy and doubt in her face, too, and her arms aren´t reaching for anything yet ...

Asian Exotica

In 2016, I´m participating in another International tip-in page swap. These are my two spreads for Maidi´s book themed "Asian Exotica". I´ve tried to make one spread more Japanese and the other one Chinese inspired. The single pages are 13 x 17 cm, so each spread measures 26 x 17 cm. My pages will be sent to Australia tomorrow.

Love Gives You Wings

For this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge themed "Love Gives You Wings", I´ve been playing with images from Paula Kesselring and Art by January.

Heart-Mender

For this digital collage, I´ve blended elements from Miles Beyond the Moon kit "Sweet Nothings" with the original photo of Alice Liddell, the real Alice that inspired Alice in Wonderland. Take this as a little hint for upcoming news on my blog!
