At the Waters´ Edge

Last week I´ve been to Neustrelitz for a weekend, and I´ve had a great time there visiting dear friends, enjoying some late summer days, and taking a few pictures of the wonderful landscape.
Here I´ve turned one of my photos into a watercolour painting with Photoshop and added some word art from Lorie Davison.

Muse

 Have you seen the Monthly Mischief kits for September themed "Muse" over at Mischief Circus? I´ve used Beth´s Songbirdy kits with elements and papers for these two collages.

Books/Reading

Of course I couldn´t resist this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge theme "Books and Reading". For my digital postcard I´ve used elements from Xquizart, an Oscraps collab, Alpha Stamps, Gracie Tracy, OAWA, Priss and Lorie Davison; the background is a scan of a book page I´ve dyed with spray inks.

By the Light of the Moon

I´ve read in the newspaper that mushrooms have been seen early this year, and in fact we´ve had some days that looked a lot like autumn last week - so I´ve been in the mood to make a digital postcard for this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge themed "Fungi". Credits go to the sadly retired Hidden Vintage Studios as well as Holliewood Studios.

Tropical Summer

No, I´ve never been on a tropical island, and when I´m going on vacation (not very often), I prefer big cities with lots of museums and sightseeing, or great landscapes with medium temperatures ... but as this week´s theme for the Sunday Postcard Art challenge is "Tropical Summer", I had to dive into my tropically themed or coloured stuff, and this is the result.

Sketchbook

If you´re like me, you´ve tried to use a sketchbook on a regular basis again and again - and never have been successful with this plan. Well, at least I´ve put together my dream sketchbook in this digital version ... using elements from G&T, Holliewood Studios, Tumble Fish Studio, Rucola Designs and Gimptatic Scraps.

Go Somewhere

Summer is the season for traveling, and as this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge theme is "Famous Buildings", I´ve chosen a mixture of very famous buildings in Paris, Berlin, London, and Athens for my digital postcard this week.

Isn´t it a Dream?

Beth Todd has come out with wonderful Songbirdy kits for this month´s Monthly Mischief themed "Dream" over at MischiefCircus.com! I´ve made three digital collages with her elements and papers kits, "A Dream" above, "Night Rest" below, and the third one featuring words by Dejan Stojanovic is called "Shore and Ocean". Hope you´ll like them and feel inspired to make your own dreamy art.

Stargazing

"Stargazing" is this week´s theme for the Sunday Postcard Art challenge, and though you can define a stargazer as an astrologer, too, my stargazing lady is just watching the sky ... I´ve used images from Courtney´s Designs, Dutch Dream, Itkupilli and Tumble Fish Studio for my digital collage.

Ocean Dream - Turquoise and Lime

Usually I´m not a big fan of colour themes and challenges, but this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge theme "Turquoise and Lime" covers two of my favourite colours that are also perfect for any summer art, so I started thinking ...
I´ve found a few of my own papers made using stencils and stamps and several inks and paints in my stash. I´ve scanned those at 300 dpi to use them as a personal base for any digital projects, and for this postcard they really came in handy! I layered and blended them, then added elements from Jen Maddocks, Lorie Davison, Courtney´s Designs, et designs, Marta van Eck and Nicole Young, and voilà: Here´s my Ocean Dream.

Nevermore

Here´s the result of a little playing with Foxeysquirrel digital image kits - Poe and The Raven are favourite themes of mine, so everything came together quite easily.

Honor the Soul

With Nancy Baumiller´s new Crowabout StudioB kit "Honor the Soul" I´ve made one cut and paste journal page for you and one digital sample - as you can see, it´s really easy to play with this kit´s printable collage sheets as well as its png images.

Photography

I haven´t joined an ATC swap for quite a while, and when I started making these, I wasn´t sure if I should join a swap or just fill up my trading album - but I decided that they make a nice set for this "Photography" themed group swap.

Follow Your Bliss

When playing with Nancy Baumiller´s new kit "Follow Your Bliss", I just HAD TO use that bird image - isn´t it lovely?

Rainbows

For this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge themed "Rainbows", I´ve made a collaged and stamped postcard - the lady is from a free Stampington paper, the map from a recycled envelope, the background is a bookpage dyed with Distress Oxide stamp pads, and the rubber stamps are from Carabelle Studio. I´ve used the colours of the rainbow for the raindrops, too.

Heart Song

There´s a new Crowabout StudioB kit out now today called "Heart Song". I´ve made two samples for you with this kit; I just love the eyes on "No Doubt Allowed", and I´ve used words from a favourite Robert Gernhardt poem for my second one, "For You".

Times Gone By

"Nostalgia/ Times Gone By" is the theme for this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge, and it was proposed that we used an old photo of ourselves ... so here it´s me at the age of 3. I´ve scanned the photo, cropped and edited it in Photoshop, then printed it and worked on it with watersoluble crayons and finally added rubber stamps from Oxford Impressions, Limited Edition and Cavallini.

Where The Light Is

These two collages made with Nancy Baumiller´s new Crowabout StudioB kit "Where The Light Is" are among my favourites from the past weeks, especially as they came out quite naturally, without too much thinking: As always, I´ve just picked my favourite pieces and went on intuitively. This is such a great kit, maybe you´d like to play with it yourself? If you´re more into cut and paste collage, no problem, as this kit also comes with printable collage sheets. Have fun!

So Fabulous!

Today MischiefCircus came out with a new Monthly Mischief Collection called "So Fabulous", and here I have three samples for you that I´ve made with Beth Todd´s Songbirdy kits. For the collage above, I´ve only used her kit So Fab#1~Elements, and for both collages below I added backgrounds from So Fab#3~Papers. Great stuff to work with!

Faces

Have you noticed that European shops have been provided with Jane Davenport´s mixed media stuff recently? I´ve purchased some favourites and couldn´t resist playing with them ... on the ATC above, I´ve used Jane´s tapes and combined them with stencils, stamps, and coloured pencils.

For the ATC below I´ve used one of her clear stamps on a book page, then used coloured pencils and some additional stamps from Dina Wakley.

And just because it´s a face and has some characteristic "Jane" face features, I also add this ATC to my post ...

Hexagons

For this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge themed "Hexagons", I´ve combined elements from Miles Beyond the Moon, Sissy Sparrows, and Courtney´s Designs.

Sometimes some images speak to you, and if it´s a good day, you´re able to express with them what´s currently on your mind.

Zeppelin

For this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge that I´m guest hosting, I´ve chosen "Zeppelin" as a theme. Graf Ferdinand von Zeppelin died 100 years ago, in March 1917. He invented those "flying cigars" that were named after him and that have been used between peace and war, transporting mail as well as people. And there´s an old song by Otto Reutter from 1909 documented here - isn´t it weird? And did you know that my favourite band is Led Zeppelin?

I´ve made two samples for you: The one above was made using a background made with Distress Oxide stamp pads, images from a magazine about postage stamps, a real postage stamp, and rubber stamps from Bo Bunny, Marianne Designs, Makistamps, Oxford Impressions, and See D´s.

My digital card below was made with images from Angie Young, Crafty Button Designs, Manuela Zimmermann, Holliewood Studios, Itkupilli, Magical Reality, and Finecrafted Designs.

If you check your images, I´m sure you´ll find some great ones, too, and I hope you´ll be inspired to play with that theme this week!

Soul Garden

Nancy came out with her two Soul Garden kits (1 and 2) today, and for my samples, I´ve combined the two kits. As always, they come with printable collage sheets, so you can also use them for your physical collages.

Number One

I´ve made this Hitchcock card for this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge themed Numbers, using stamps from Carmen´s Veranda, Limited Edition, Kaisercraft, and Marianne Design.

Positive Changes

I´ve really loved playing with Nancy Baumiller´s new Crowabout StudioB kit "Positive Changes" - aren´t those bird heads just wonderful? As always, the kit comes with printable collage sheets, so you can use it for all your digital and physical collages.

Silhouettes

For this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge themed "Silhouettes", I didn´t have any appropriate stamps, so I´ve used some favourite images from (sadly retired) Hidden Vintage Studios to make this card; the Emerson word art is from Tina Chambers.

Good Vibes

There´s a new "Collect Your Own Collab" collection out at MischiefCircus.com, themed "Good Vibes". All collab kits have vibrant colours and 70´s inpired images, but there´s a wide range of interpretations of the theme.
Nancy Baumiller´s Crowabout StudioB kit Good Vibes is mainly Yoga inpired, but my two samples above may show that you don´t need to make Yoga themed collages with it.

And Marsha Jorgensen´s Tumble Fish Studio kit Good Vibes is more of a Bohemian kit combined with lovely modern word art and an additional Good Vibes Doodles kit used in both of my samples below.

Sail Away

For this week´s Sunday Postcard Art challenge themed "Sail Away" I´ve made a digital card using some older kits from Hidden Vintage Studios (sadly retired), Tumble Fish Studio, and Eena´s Creations, plus additional elements from Manuela Zimmermann and Vinnie Pearce.

Circumstance

Since Beth Todd had released her "Pomp" kit in her Songbirdy shop at MischiefCircus.com recently, you´ve probably waiting for "Circumstance", and here it is! Again it has those lovely rich colours that go together so well - I love it, so I´ve made three samples for you: Above is "Before the Concert", the second one is called "Invitation", and my third piece is "The Secret Garden".
